Jonas Brothers Summer Tour Announcement

The Jonas Brothers have announced they will kick off their North American summer concert tour with a gig at the Molson Amphitheatre in Toronto.
The Burning Up Tour is to begin July 4 in Toronto and through August 31, with stops in more than two dozen cities.

"We've had an awesome time touring and having an opportunity to see so many of our fans," the Jonas Brothers said in a statement. "Every time we play, we learn so much and grow both as artists and a band. We really can't wait to get back on the road this summer."

The Burning Up Tour is produced by Live Nation.

My daughter is obsessed with three hot boys.
She's a Jonas Brothers fan, and her fixation has gotten so bad we take guests up to her room to enjoy the look of disbelief when they see that every millimeter of her walls are plastered with Jonas Brothers posters and pages torn from magazines.

A few months ago, my daughter, an eighth-grader, even won second prize in a fan contest for best-decorated walls.

The obsession isn't hard to understand for a parent who grew up during Beatlemania. But with the Fab Four, you knew them through their songs; you saw them on "The Ed Sullivan Show," and the fantasy ended there. You never seriously entertained the idea you could actually meet them.

But these days, computer-savvy young fans keep close tabs on their favorite bands. Word gets out immediately when the Jonas Brothers schedule a "meet and greet." My daughter and her friends desperately wanted to go to one in Philly, except for one minor obstacle pointed out by their parents -- school.

Their Jonas Brothers stalking, however, has taught them more about geography than they could ever learn in class. They constantly check to see where the brothers are appearing and whether it's within driving distance.

They were at the Rockaway Mall in December, when the boys gave a live concert at their favorite Jersey mall (they grew up in Wyckoff).

One long-suffering dad, and my daughter's five friends, arrived at the mall at 4 a.m and stood for about 10 hours waiting for the Jonas Brothers' four-song set to begin. One of the girls nearly fainted. She missed the concert, but the boys politely stopped in the medic room and waved to her.

My daughter and her friends still replay the videos they took, mostly footage of outstrected hands waving at the Jonas Brothers, who are drowned out by hysterical screams.

It was hard to remember that, just last summer, the Jonas Brothers were a freebie act at the hot-air balloon festival in Readington. Now, they're selling out arenas.

When tickets went on sale for a March Jonas brothers concert at the Izod Center, I didn't think it could be anything like the Hannah Montana ticket-buying frenzy. But it was.

At 10 a.m,. tickets were released and, within minutes, all had vanished. Along with some other parents, I managed to get five. But the seats were too far away for our daughters, who bemoaned the fact they wouldn't be close enough to their idols.

Since then, they've been vying in radio station giveaways in the hopes of getting a seat near the stage, or better yet, a backstage pass.

I try to tell my daughter it's unrealistic to think she'll ever meet them. She doesn't believe me. Online, she sees dozens of other girls who have succedeed. They post pictures with the brothers, complete with detailed stories.

Who am I to say it won't happen?

It looks like it might after all. My daughter's friends found relatives with show-biz connections --and possible backstage passes.

I'm thinking that'll be the end of it. They'll meet the Jonas Brothers, get their picture taken and leave with an autograph.

Then, it'll be on to the next hot act. Maybe I should be looking for new Jonas Brothers fans. If we're lucky, they'll want to redecorate their rooms, and we'll have a few posters for sale.

JONAS BROTHERS INTERVIEW

Here are excerpts from an awesome Jonas Brothers interview with Grand Central magazine. They sound so down to earth.
Do you guys ever wish you had a normal life?
Nick: I think we love what we do and we know that we're living a lot of people's dreams.
How do you like acting?
Joe: For us, acting is a lot of fun. It's something new, for sure. It's also kind of easier than being on stage, because if you mess up a line, you can say, 'cut,' and start over, rather than being on stage.
If you mess up a lyric, you can't say, 'All right, cut. Let's do that song again.' So we have a lot of fun acting. And I think we're probably going to be doing it more often.
Do you guys ever get sick of your songs?
Kevin: I actually don't think we have that problem.
Nick: Maybe like the older songs, when we first started, we sometimes think about how happy we are with our music now. But usually we're not like, 'Oh, no, not this one.'
Kevin: We still listen to the countdowns on the radio stations every night, and are excited. If we hear a song on the radio, we like turn it up and crank it up.
We're freaking out that we're on Top 40 radio, and that we're actually moving up the chart is a whole other thing, and we love it.
That's so cool, I wonder what they do when 'See You Again' comes on the radio! ;]

Jonas Brothers to Headline Marcus Amp at Summerfest ’08

The Jonas Brothers will close out Summerfest 2008 with their Look Me in the Eyes tour on Sunday, July 6 at 7:00 p.m. at the Marcus Amphitheater.
A teenage Pop/Rock sensation hailing from New Jersey, the Jonas Brothers trio is made up of 19-year-old guitarist and backup vocalist Kevin, along with 17-year-old Joseph and 14-year-old Nicholas, who share lead vocals and also take turns on keyboards and percussion.
Their debut release, It's About Time produced the hit singles "Mandy" and "Year 3000." In 2007 the Jonas Brothers released their self-titled follow-up album, which reached No. 5 on the Billboard 200 chart in its first week, with the help of hits "Hold On" and "S.O.S."
The brothers recently wrapped up opening for the Hannah Montana & Miley Cyrus: Best of Both Worlds 54-date arena tour in January. They are set to star in their own live-action spy comedy titled "J.O.N.A.S." on the Disney channel this summer.
The opening act for this performance will be announced in the near future.
Tickets go on sale March 15 at 11 a.m. and will be available for $55.00, $45.00, and $30.00. This price includes Summerfest admission and facility fees. Barack Obama a fan of The Jonas Brothers

The morning after Barack Obama engaged in yet another debate with opponent Hillary Clinton on the issues facing our country, he was talking a whole other topic: the Jonas Brothers.
Barack, 46, told the Kidd Kraddick in the Morning Show about the day he discovered his 10-year-old daughter, Malia, was a Jonas Bro fan.
“I didn’t know who these guys were, and I come home one day and Malia has all these prepubescent boys on her wall,” he told the host. "I said, 'Who are these guys, and how many pictures of them do you need on your wall?'”
Despite the fact that the politician's trip to Texas coincides with the abstinent teens' tour stop there, he told Kidd he won't be using his status to score tickets. “No, I am not going to be telling my daughters that I’m with the Jonas Brothers.”
Then again, it could be worse. “They actually seem like good young men,” Barack said

We are in Kentucky in the middle of our current tour. The shows have been amazing. We started in Tucson and have already done over 17 shows.

The writers strike opened up some time for us so we decided it would be good to keep touring and see all of our FANS. We decided the tour should be called the WHEN YOU LOOK ME IN THE EYES tour because we wanted to look our fans in the eyes. We have been amazed how many people are coming out to the shows. You are the best.

The Jonas Brothers are still on the market — and they don't mind a bit.
"Singling it up and enjoying it!" Kevin, 20, told Usmagazine.com last night at the Chevy Rocks the Future concert in Burbank, California, when asked if they were seeing anyone.
They're also flying solo on stage.
They recently kicked off their "When You Look Me in the Eyes” tour, after being on the road with celeb darling Miley Cyrus, to whom brother Nick, 15, was linked.
"It’s just us," Kevin says of touring. "We left the Hannah Montana tour. We did the movie, and the movie is doing fantastic. Totally excited."
They're also psyched for their new single, “When You Look Me in the Eyes.”
Says brother Nick, "We're crossing our fingers for a No. 1 this time... you never know!"
How are the brothers adjusting to their fast fame?
"It’s a crazy feeling when there are thousands of girls waiting in the other room," says Joe, 18, adding, "It’s weird, but it’s exciting for us."

Opening for Miley Cyrus Best of Both Worlds tour, receiving a platinum record and enduring screaming girls at every stop do not spell success for Jonas Brothers' guitarist Kevin Jonas, 20.
"I don't even feel like we've made it yet," Jonas said. "I still feel like there's so much more we can do. But I'm really honored as to where we are."
The Jonas Brothers headline their own concert Saturday at the Fox Theatre in Detroit. The band released its self-titled, self-penned album to a No. 5 debut on the Billboard Top 200 album chart. Their single "S.O.S." landed at No. 1 on iTunes, and the video was frequently aired on MTV's "TRL."
Now that the Hollywood writers' strike is settled, the brothers -- who also include Joe, 18, and Nick, 16 -- will continue production on their new television show "J.O.N.A.S." And a still-untitled third album is set to be released July 8.
Next! talks to Kevin Jonas about the upcoming Detroit concert and the group's future.

Q . What would it take for you to consider yourself successful?

A . I'm really excited about this tour. It'll be one of our first headlining tours. Then we've got so much more. We're going to release the next record. We're going to do another summer tour. Then there's the TV show. I'm very excited for what the future has to hold.

Q . Are you going to play any new songs when you perform at the Fox Theatre?

A . We actually are going to be, and that's going to be very exciting for the kids to be able to hear some brand-new songs. After the first show, it'll be up on YouTube, and then all the other kids will know the lyrics to the songs (laughs). We're very excited to be back in Detroit so quickly. It's going to be awesome. We love it there, and I think it's going to be a real fun time.

Q . Do you have an opening band?

A . At the moment, we actually don't have an opener. It's "a night with." I'll let you know if it changes, but I think, at the moment, it's just us.

Q . What is the premise of "J.O.N.A.S."?

A . It stands for "Junior Operatives Networking As Spies." We're a band that plays music that's going undercover because they're international spies. It's a high-impact television show. We had to go through two weeks of martial arts training, and it was awesome. We got to hang from wires. I did the whole "Mission: Impossible," upside-down hanging, doing flips in the air above the floor thing. It was awesome.

Q . How will you fit your television show and music career into your schedule?

A . Once we're doing the show, we'll focus on the show. Maybe we'll be back in the studio when we're making the show. Then we'll be, maybe, doing fly dates over the weekend on tour. At the moment, we're just focusing on this tour that's going on right now.

Ellen DeGeneres Gets Protective of Joe Jonas

Ellen DeGeneres wants to make sure pop star Joe Jonas – who took a spill onstage last year – is safe.
On her show, which airs Monday, the talk show host presents the singer with a helmet to wear onstage.
"I hate to cover up that hair," says DeGeneres, "because it¹s good hair, but it's more important that you stay safe."
Accepting the gift, Jonas quipped: "I can pick up some cute chicks."
On the show, DeGeneres plays footage of Jonas falling on broken glass at the American Music Awards last year. Jonas, 18, cut his hand when he tripped over an exploding-glass window prop at the start of the group's hit "SOS."
Earlier this month, Jonas also ended up in the emergency room due to a fall after a concert in Atlantic City.
In that accident he suffered a small cut when he tripped and hit his forehead on a grate while taping one of the group's popular YouTube videos, according to his Hollywood Records rep Lillian Matulic.

The Jonas Brothers made many many girls very happy on Saturday.

The musical siblings showed up unannounced at the Gibson Amphitheater in LA, where hundreds of fans camped out to buy tickets for their upcoming solo show.

Tix sold out so fast that the Brothers had to add an additional two dates. All in all, their three shows at the Gibson sold out within minutes.

All you have to do is line up at the box office the day the tickets go on sale (or maybe the night before) depending on if you want to be first in line and the first 20rows of each venue will be reserved JUST for those in person waiting at the box office not ticket brokers. The Jan. 31 concert with the Jonas Brothers kicks off the trio’s “Look Me In The Eyes” tour, which will hit 140 theaters and arenas worldwide this year.
Anyone who saw them with Miley Cyrus (aka Hannah Montana) back in November are probably scratching their heads wondering why Live Nation would book the boys in the just shy of 2,300-seat Tucson Music Hall. You can bet on this: It will sell out before lunch is served when tickets go on sale Jan. 12.
So here’s a hint: If you’re a big fan get to the Music Hall box office before 10 a.m. Jan. 12 and get a number so you can wait in line and try to snag a $49.50 ticket for the first 20 rows. Those seats will only be available to buyers who present themselves at the box office.

Joe Jonas Rushed To Hospital (Correction)

One third of the Jonas Brothers pop band was sent to the hospital Saturday night after injuring himself backstage at Boardwalk Hall during a highly anticipated Miley Cyrus concert.

Joe Jonas, the band's 18-year-old lead vocalist and former resident of Wyckoff, Bergen County, tripped and hit his forehead on a grate while filming a YouTube video backstage, according to a publicist.

"He received a few stitches and is doing very well," said Lillian Matulic, vice president of publicity for Hollywood Records. "He's not even missing a show."

Matulic would not comment further on the incident.

The Jonas Brothers opened for Cyrus Saturday night to a sold out crowd. Both Cyrus and the Jonas Brothers are currently under contract with Hollywood Records and commonly tour together

Jonas Brothers are the draw for plenty of girls tonight. Sure, you've heard of Hannah Montana, I mean you'd have to be living in a tent or something to have missed it with all that concert ticket craziness and probably you or someone you know wanted to go to the show or maybe it was just your daughter and her peeps, but never mind because thats all "so last fall," and what I really want to know is do you know your Jonas Brothers?

OMG!
Well. Can I first just say that the sold-out Hannah Montana concert which is really a concert by Miley Cyrus, who plays Hannah on the Disney Channel TV series happens tonight at The Q, which means that Miley could be in town as early as, um, right now? But here's the other thing: The Jonas Brothers are part of her concert and they are without a doubt the next big thing, except to real JB fans, for whom they're the current big thing. Actually, plenty of girls of a certain age would be happy to skip the whole Hannah/Miley part of the show and just concentrate on Kevin, Joe and Nick.

Now that I think about it, they also might already be in town. Right here. In Cleveland. Like, now.

The 4-1-1 on the Jonas Brothers

The incredible dark-haired trio grew up in Wyckoff, N.J., though they live in Los Angeles now. They write and perform upbeat pop and rock songs about love and relationships. Their career formed when brother Nick started singing on Broadway. The next thing the family knew, an executive at Columbia Records heard Nick and his brothers sing "Please Be Mine" and signed them to a record deal. Their first CD, "Its About Time," came out in 2006. Then they were featured on MTVs "Total Request Live" and started appearing in videos on the Disney Channel. Their second, self-titled, album came out in August on Hollywood Records, which is owned by Disney. The guys are the sons of Kevin and Denise Jonas, and have a younger brother, Frankie, whos sometimes called the Bonus Jonas. Frankie, 7, hopes to someday perform with his brothers. Now 20 years old, Kevin has a reputation as a sweet guy! The story goes that he taught himself to play guitar when he was home sick from school one week. He loves Starbucks coffee and the color green, and he owns his own Jeep.

Spotlight: Middle brother Joseph Adam Jonas
Joe, 18, is known as the jokester in this trio. He's got a mischievous glint in his big brown eyes, and he once dated a girl named Mandy, which inspired the bands first single, "Mandy." You can hear him doing lead vocals and playing tambourine.

Little brother Nick Jonas
Nick was only 6 when he started singing professionally. Now he's 15. He collaborates with Joe on lead vocals and plays guitar. The curly-haired Nick has a reputation as being a little more introverted than his brothers, though none of the bros are actually shy. Nick was diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes two years ago.

What they're likely to play tonight
The brothers aren't just the opening act; they're woven into the show. Our moles tell us the bros will be playing "We Got the Party" at the end of the show -- with Miley.

Tidbits
The Jonas Brothers wear "purity rings," which they say symbolize the promises they made to themselves and God to "stay pure until marriage."

The "Bonus Jonas" edition of the self-titled Jonas Brothers CD includes the 14 original musical tracks plus two extra tunes (including "We Got the Party" with Hannah Montana), and a DVD with videos.

The brothers were guest stars on an episode of "Hannah Montana" in which they totally annoyed Miley by becoming buds with her dad (played by Billy Ray Cyrus, her real dad).

Here's a heartbreaker if you missed it: The brothers played the House of Blues in Cleveland in July, where tickets sold for $20 to $30. That's $20, not $200 or $2,000.

Nick either is or isn't dating Miley Cyrus. For the record, he says he isn't, though this rumor still makes its way around the gossip circles. Some JB fans find it hard to forgive Miley for her closeness to the guys.

What is your character like in "J.O.N.A.S!"?

The Jonas Brothers are the famous band and [in the pilot]; I play Stella, who is a writer for a teen magazine. I get to go on a date with all three of the boys. I date all three of the boys behind their backs, they don't know I am dating each of them. At the end of it I write about it in my column. They don't know where all the information is coming from about their private lives. The three Jonas brothers are spies and they save the world after school. The band is their cover.

In the TV show, what does J.O.N.A.S stand for?

Junior Operatives Networking As Spies. It is a spy show. We will be filming J.O.N.A.S. for three years. And every week you get a different script and new characters will come in. We will have different guest stars. They are going to become like family.

How did you get the role in the movies and the Jonas Brothers' show?

I auditioned for "Bratz" six times. It was totally nerve-racking. Every time I auditioned I thought, 'Oh I messed up, I am not going to get the part.' With J.O.N.A.S. it was the same thing. I auditioned a couple of times by myself and then they called me in to meet with the Jonas Brothers. They kind of saw how we would work together.
